New House

Posted on Wednesday 14 May 2008

Well we’re all moved in!! We officially have our very first house! Dave and I are so excited and overwhelmed all at the same time. We have been super bless through it all. We were able to prayerfully request a mortgage that would allow us to be comfortable and continue to be faithful with our money and God blessed us even more then we expected.

We hope to have friends and family over real soon to share in our joy!

Waiting…

Posted on Thursday 6 March 2008

Well of course life throws you curve balls….

KB Homes is now saying that our house escrow may not close until the 3rd week of april… I guess I can wait a couple more weeks.

Please be praying everything goes smoothly, especially the loan process which is a lot crazier than we expected… Things are always ugly when it involves money I guess.

We rely on the Lord to provide and help us prosper.

The house is half done

Posted on Tuesday 22 January 2008

We are so excited! Our house is about half built. The frame is finished and the roof is on. They have all the piping and air ducting done also! We are very blessed that our house is being built well and quickly. We are hopeing that the house will be finished in 8-12 weeks from now. That means we could possibly be in our new house just after Easter!

We look foward to having you and your families over during the spring and summer for lunches, BBQs and time to hang out.

Please be praying that everything goes well with our house!

We could also use your prayer for my (lizz’s) job situation. I feel the push to go back to the elementary schools. I know that is where my heart and desire is. I have loved working at the high school, but God has shown me that he has created me to work with young minds. I am excited to see what opportunities God has for me!

FOUNDATION!!

Posted on Friday 28 December 2007

Well I went by the house site today and the Foundation is down and set to go!! From what they are telling us we should be next in line for Framing! The house across the street got framed real quick and they said ours should go just as fast.

We’re looking at the house being done some time between May and July…? We’re not exactly sure. Once they start to framing they can give us a better estimate.

We’ll keep you updated!!!

Waiting

Posted on Tuesday 20 November 2007

Well we have filled out a ton of papers and put down a good amount for a deposit on a house. The house is a KB home located in the neighborhood at Polk and McKinley. We are very excited, and also stirred up waiting for more information. For now the plan is for the house to be finished around April. Although the winter/rain season is approaching quickly and that always affects building.

We would appreciate if you and your families could pray for all events and situations around this house. We feel financially secure, but you never know what time will tell. Please pray that we are blessed financially and able to be wise with the money that God has blessed us with. Please pray for the home builders and construction workers. Pray that they do a wonderful job, that they are safe in the process and that they are able to build the home in a timely manner.

We hope to have a day when the house is finished that friends and family can come and pray over the house and celebrate with us.

Thank you for being with us and supporting us through this life journey.

Work, work work…

Posted on Thursday 13 September 2007

I am amazed at how fast time flies when all you do is work and rest. I don’t think I have ever been this tired. This is the first job I have ever had that when I am done with work I generally go home and don’t leave again. I’m typically known for my extreme energy and not being home often. These days I find myself somehow home more often than Dave. That is something that most people would never think possible.

My job is great, and also one of the toughest jobs I have ever had. Actually the toughest job I have ever had. This job take every aspect of me working together to act, teach, befriend, understand, love, help, guide, direct, be stern, lead and so much more… Although when I stop and see what God has done I realize he has created me with this design and abilities that can be used to do these things, while glorifying God by using the gifts and talents he has given me. Then go home and be forced to do something I am generally not good at… REST.

Dave on the other hand has been learning what it is like to work a lot and be home a little. Although he is home quite a lot more than most people. We have been super blessed that he is also in a position now that glorifies God because he also is using the gifts and talents that God has given him. And even better, he s doing it at out church and is able to not just use his talents to work, but work in ministry.

So yes we work a lot… but our work is also our blessing, even when it is overwhelming.

Other than that we are in process with deciding on buying a house, when, where, and how??? and of course I almost daily remind Dave that I would oh so love to follow God’s command that we are to be Fruitful and Multiply =o)

Praise the Lord

God has been so good!!!

My surgery went well. No more big kidney stones for me… at least for now.  They are biopsying the stones to tell me what they are made of so I can make sure I modify my lifestyle to make sure I don’t get them any more. The recovery has been pretty tough, but I am now doing much much better. This is my second day with no naps. I am very tired but need to get back into the roll of things. All in all things are good health wise for me.

ALSO!! I GOT A JOB!!! It is different and a little intimidating. I will be teaching Algebra 1 at Cambridge High School. Yeah! I KNOW! Very different from teaching 3rd grade at a little private school. But God has placed me right where he wants me. I am excited and look forward to what God has in store.

As for Dave his big day in coming up!!! Well the church’s big day really, but Dave’s also. We have been working on the new church building for a while now and Dave has been steadily working on the sound for the building. This coming Sunday will be out first service at the new building! Dave will get to show off his masterful skills as we all enjoy.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT!!

August already…wow

Posted on Sunday 5 August 2007

Well this summer has gone by faster than we could have ever imagined. It feels like we just began to relax, and now it’s back into the groove…

Well, kinda… Dave will continue to move and groove with his job at the church. I on the other hand, am still looking for a full-time teaching position. I know God has something out there for me, but waiting is very hard. School starts over these next 3 weeks and that means I have 3 weeks to find a job. I know God won’t leave us hanging… I can always substitute or keep making my cakes, but I need to teach. So if you could stop and remember me in your prayers I would appreciate it.

Also for those who  don’t know I have 7 or more kidney stones and will be having a surgical procedure to have them removed on Thursday, August 9th. It will be a one day procedure and everything should be just fine, but prayer is still appreciated.
